Shore Capital Markets is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our Head of Sales, Simon Wickham.

Mark Brown, who has worked with Simon for some years before joining Shore Capital Markets, makes the following tribute to a dearly missed brother of the business.

‘Following a long and heroic battle against cancer, our great colleague and friend Simon Wickham passed away today. He was surrounded by his family and was at peace.

Simon had the rare distinction in the City of being universally liked and respected and everyone whose lives he touched was the better for it.

He was a modest and unassuming man and would hate being the centre of attention, even now.

However, he was also steadfast and determined and driven by integrity, as any of his clients would testify. The words which most spring to mind may be terribly old fashioned but to me are the most fitting – the City has lost a true Gent.

He has been a rock for me over the last seven years. I feel lucky and privileged to know Simon and to call him my friend.’

May Simon rest in peace whilst we extend our deepest condolences to Simon’s family; we reflect upon our fortune to know him.
